Recent NotesHere are the 5 most recent notes posted by PGPOA members. ..................................... FYI - for those owners who may not have attended the recent property owners meeting and might now be aware, Warren County is in the process of doing its county-wide revaluation. Here is a link to a WARREN RECORD article with more details: https://www.warrenrecord.com/news/article_8e50097e-28b7-11ef-9010-b78a6713e128.html ..................................... SPECTRUM is expanding broadband service to our area in Warren County and service may be available in early 2025.
We have confirmed that Pasture Gate subdivision is in an area that is part of the grant-funded projects for rural broadband expansion ("GREAT grant - Contracted Project"). I recently contacted NC Dept of Information Technology (NCDIT) to find out when we could expect the roll-out of the Warren County portion of the broadband expansion project to be completed. I received this information from Jim Corrin of NCDIT:
"I’ve been advising folks that as the estimated target completion date approaches (which we now know is expected to be in January 2025 in Warren County), those in the build footprint will receive – directly from Charter Communications (Spectrum), not from us – information about pricing, package availability, and so on. The next steps for signing up/setting a connection date will probably be a part of the communication you receive. I don’t know the method – direct mail, doorhanger, phone, direct sales rep – they will use to reach out to you."
If you are interested in switching to SPECTRUM service when it becomes available, I encourage you to go to the SPECTRUM website (www.spectrum.com) and enter your address in the boxes near the top of that home page and then click on "CHECK AVAILABILITY". When you get the response screen that indicates that service is not currently available, type in your contact information (including email address) so that you will receive updates. SPECTRUM indicates it will notify you when service becomes available. My hope is that if many in our neighborhood enroll in this SPECTRUM update/notification system, it will also let SPECTRUM know that a lot of us are interested in its service ... and it may bump up our subdivision's priority for being offered connections!
FOR MORE DETAILS: The NC Dept of Information Technology (NCDIT) website with more detailed information about the areas in North Carolina covered by federal broadband grants in NC is: www.nconemap.gov/pages/broadband. (Warren County's Broadband Initiative website also has some information at: www.warrencountync.com/640/Broadband-Initiative.) ..................................... here's a link to the info about the CODE RED system of notifications that alerted me about the 9-1-1 outage problem this past weekend: https://www.warrencountync.com/671/Code-Red
You may want to sign up. We signed up for CODE RED alerts a few years ago. We get alerts on our home phone, my cellphone, and my email. It doesn't happen often and it's usually something important (EX: 9-1-1 outage, boil water advisory, chemical spill, utility outage, evacuation notice, etc.) ..................................... Before I go shopping, I thought I'd reach out to all of you. I'm looking to purchase a good used jet ski if anyone is looking to sell or knows of where I should look, I'd greatly appreciate the advice. Thanks. ..................................... As most of you likely know, the Parsons family lost husband and father John on Friday, Feb 23. The viewing for John will be held on Saturday, March 2nd from noon until 2 PM at Blaylock Funeral Home located on 203 North Front Street in Warrenton. Burial services at the Sunset Hills Cemetery in Littleton will immediately follow the viewing. |
